Jessa Seewald has finally answered the question that has been weighing on many Duggar fans’ minds. Since she announced her pregnancy, many fans speculated that Jessa could be carrying twins. Fuel was added to the fire when Jessa released a pregnancy survey that included twin boys, twin girls, and boy and girl twins as possible options. However, Jessa has finally laid the rumors to rest as she spoke at the Southern Women’s Show in South Carolina.
The Duggar Family Blog reports that Ben and Jessa Seewald revealed some more details about their unborn baby while taking the stage at the Southern Women’s Show in Charlotte, South Carolina. According to a fan in attendance, Jessa was asked at the event’s Q&A session if she was having twins and officially squashed those rumors by noting that she could only see one baby in the ultrasound photo.
“It was a privileged to meet Ben and Jessa today. Jessa was beaming. Ben was boldly proclaiming the Gospel. Jessa put the rumors to rest, saying they could only see one baby in the ultrasound.”
According to the International Business Times , the rumors that Jessa Seewald may be carrying twins began when the couple posted their pregnancy announcement video, which featured the pair making smoothies. Jessa noted that soon they will be making another “little smoothie” as Ben quipped “maybe more than one.” With that, the rumors that Jessa could be carrying multiples was solidified.
Michelle Duggar admitted that she may be to blame for the twins rumors, as she hinted at multiples to her daughter early on in the pregnancy.
The Duggar matriarch says that when Jessa informed her of the pregnancy she said, “Who knows, Jessa? You may have twins!”
“I think maybe Mom, Grandma here, started that rumors. I said to Jessa when she let us know that they were expecting, we were so thrilled, I said, ‘Who knows, Jessa? You may have twins! In our family, twins kind of run in the maternal line. Surely somewhere along the way one of the girls will possibly have twins.”
