Mike Krzyzewski is hoping to help Team USA win a gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. But after that, the Duke Coach is unsure about his future with the Olympic team.

Coach K. was made the head coach of the USA Men’s Basketball team in 2008 and helped the team find a gold medal after the disappointing 2004 games. Krzyzewski said that it has been the “ultimate honor” to coach the Olympic team and promised that he would stay involved with USA Basketball after he steps down.

Sports Illustrated reports that the Duke Coach has been involved with the international team for 25 years. He helped Team USA win a silver medal in 1987 at the World University Games. He’s been involved with the team in some capacity over the last two decades and in 2008 was made head coach.

ESPN’s Marc Stein tweeted after a press conference today:

“At Olympic press conference in Dallas, Coach K announces that “this is the last time” he plans to coach Team USA in international comp.”

Do you think Mike Krzyzewski will end his an Olympic career with another gold medal?
