With the new Star Wars film being produced by Disney just on the horizon, it may not come as a surprise that Star Wars themed parks are coming to Disney World.

According to Fortune , Disney announced plans on Saturday to build two separate Star Wars amusement parks in both Disney World and Disneyland, in Florida and California respectfully. Fourteen acres has been set aside for both parks, and both parks seem to have similar attractions in store. Disney head Bob Iger reported later this year that the Disney World parks were planned to be based off the new Star Wars films , rather than the old.

“I am thrilled to announce the next chapter in the long and exciting history between Disney Parks and Star Wars,” Iger wrote on the Disney World Blog . “We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever. These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”

The Disney World attraction will reportedly feature a ride based on the Millennium Falcon and a recreation of the infamous Cantina. In addition to rides and shows, the Disney World park will be full of aliens, robots and other familiar creatures from the Star Wars universe.

According to E! Online , three illustrations showing concept art for the Star Wars themed Disney World have been released, which you can see below.

While no date is set for the opening of the new park in Disney World and Disneyland, the company plans to break ground in California in 2017. The new area is planned to replace the Big Thunder Ranch attraction, as well as some areas that have never been open to the public.

A new surge of Star Wars entertainment has emerged as a result of Disney purchasing the rights to the franchise for $4.05 billion. The latest film installment, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is slated to release in December of this year. And though the theme parks will not be open any time soon, there are two more films planned as well, promising many years of new sci-fi content for fans of the franchise.
