Have you ever sat down to watch an episode of Bob’s Burgers and thought to yourself, “Gee, I wish I could actually make the six scallion dollar man burger or the blue is the warmest cheese burger” from one of Bob’s burgers of the day. Well, have no fear, because super fan Cole Bowden has heard your prayers and has taken action.
Bowden has been recreating, taste-testing, and compiling recipes from Bob’s Burgers and his burgers of the day and recording the results on his Tumblr blog, The Bob’s Burger Experiment , according to Uproxx . He decided to complete this experiment by putting the recipes into a cookbook and sharing it with the public.
If you’re not on the same page as us Bob’s Burgers loving fans, here is a little background. On every episode of Bob’s Burgers , there is a chalkboard in the restaurant that has the burger of the day on it. Sometimes the burger of the day is talked about in the episode, sometimes it’s not, and sometimes Louise likes to change it to something gross. Nine times out of 10, a Bob’s Burgers fan will catch what the pun is in the burger of the day, like winter muensterland burger.
According to EW , Bowen’s Tumblr page got some attraction from the show’s creator, Loren Bouchard. He eventually decided to include illustrations to go inside of the cookbook as well.
Bowden talked to NPR in January and said, “Maybe the best example of how doing a show in the age of the internet can be such a satisfying experience.”
Bowden’s Tumblr shows the burgers he has recreated with photos, a slight description, and what episodes the burger of the day appeared in. To be honest, some of the burgers look really good, which means the cookbook can be more than just a joke and actually a book filled with amazing tasting burgers.
The Bob’s Burgers Burger Book: Real Recipes For Joke Burgers will be released in March and is available for pre-order at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
