New Girl star Zooey Deschanel has welcomed a new girl into her life!
Zooey and longtime beau Jacob Pechenik announced that they were expecting a baby back in January. Months after, the two were engaged. Back then, Deschanel appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and said that she wants to be surprised by her baby’s gender saying, “It’s more fun, you know? We could make it into a game.”
According to ABC News , Zooey’s rep was the one who broke the news of the actress giving birth.
“I am thrilled to confirm that Zooey Deschanel and her husband Jacob Pechenik are new parents to a beautiful healthy baby girl.”
Reports say that Zooey gave birth in Austin, Texas, where Pechenik is currently based. Zooey giving birth to a baby girl is good news, but that’s not all. The couple also got married!
According to Heavy , via E Online , Zooey and Jacob wed in a secret ceremony. The wedding was so under wraps that no details of when and where it happened are available as of writing.
Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik started dating in mid-2014. The two reportedly worked together on the movie Rock the Kasbah , and that’s when sparks flew. When they announced the news of Zooey’s pregnancy, the actress said that they are excited to have a new addition to their family.
“Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one.”
Now that she has given birth, we don’t expect to see Zooey donning a bikini so soon. As she said in an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine in May, she won’t be one of those mothers who will pose in a bikini after giving birth.
“Haven’t we all seen those pictures of a sexy new mom in a bikini after one month? I will not be that person. I’ve always gone my own course and never been someone who had the need to be super skinny. I like a healthy look. I don’t buy into that skinny-is-better mentality. I just eat healthy and work out and don’t worry about my weight too much. Actresses aren’t models, and most of them never want to be.”
There isn’t just one, but two additions to the Deschanel family. As the Inquisitr reported last month, Zooey’s sister Bones star Emily Deschanel has given birth to her second child, a son, with husband David Hornsby.
Looks like the Deschanel sisters will be busy with playdates!
