Simone Anderson’s weight loss story has inspired thousands struggling with similar problems. However, she also has critics who question her story.
New Zealand native Simone Anderson has lost 190-pounds since last August and many were shocked she was even able to do it so fast. So much so that some have taken to the Internet and said they don’t believe the hair and make-up artist is not the same in the before and after selfies.
Simone had had enough, and last year she decided to change. Through diet and exercise, she lost 189-pounds and feels wonderful, but it hasn’t come without some controversy.
Anderson has been very open and has shared her weight loss journey on social media, using Facebook , Instagram , and Tumblr, Simone has chronicled her struggles and victories. She also chose to undergo surgery.
According to her Facebook page, Simone Anderson is now about half the weight she was when she started this journey. The artist has kept her followers up-to-date with her weekly check-ups and detailed notes on her progress, along with before and after shocking photos.
“I am officially half the person I was 11 months ago! From 169 kg to 83.85 kg, I can’t even begin to explain in words what this accomplishment feels like.”

While most of her followers are inspired and express their congratulations on her incredible achievements, some are skeptical of Simone Anderson’s weight loss. This particular commenter questions that the photos even belong to the same person.
“I do not believe it is the same person–phone covering her face. People that lose weight that fast from that surgery have extremely sagging skin and stretchmarks. Not the same woman. Yes, she could lose the weight, but that thin woman isn’t the same person as the heavy one…no way!”
Even with all the positive comments, Simone Anderson says she was bothered by the negative ones because of how open she has been throughout this process.
“I think it’s because it took hours of crying and debating whether to share my story online and for others to see, posting the first picture online along with my weight for the world to see what the hardest thing I have ever done.”
Anderson had the perfect response to prove that she is actually the same woman in the before and after weight loss photos. She posted this statement along with very graphic pictures of what she actually looks like without her midsection covered up.
