Amy Schumer has reacted to the Louisiana shootings that occurred during a 7 p.m. showing of her film Trainwreck . The comedian-actress took to Twitter to share her condolences after a gunman shot seven people before turning the gun on himself.

One of the victims was dead on arrival . The gunman also died. The shooting occurred at the Grande Theater in Lafayette, Louisiana.

“It really is a chaotic scene here,” Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft said, via KDVR .

Katie Domingue was inside the movie theater and said an older man stood up about 20 minutes into the movie and began shooting.

“We heard a loud pop we thought was a firecracker,” she said. Domingue said she heard about six shots before running to the nearest exit.

“He wasn’t saying anything. I didn’t hear anybody screaming either,” Domingue said.

While police have not officially released any details on the shooting suspect, Bipartisan Report noted that witnesses say the shooter was an older, white man, but that cannot be confirmed as of this post.

As soon as Schumer heard the reports, she tweeted out the following.

My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana.

The critically acclaimed comedy was supposed to be a huge step forward in Schumer’s career, but this incident is likely to cast a shadow over it for her. After the tweet went out at 9:21 p.m., it was favorited more than 10,000 times and retweeted more than 7,100 over the next two-and-a-half hours. It also received numerous responses.

@amyschumer I think once things have settled down you and others should go a la Christian Bale, it was great to see him support the victims

@amyschumer My heart is broken, too. God be with the injured and families of all the victims.

@amyschumer Nothing to do with you. You know that. Give yourself grace & peace, and know that you & your film are here for all that’s good.
