The latest Teen Mom 2 sneak peek features Leah Messer in a less-than-stellar parenting moment. During the clip, Messer, who recently spent 30 days in rehab, is seen struggling to get her children to bed, and although the Teen Mom 2 sneak peek was shot on a school night, the 5-year-old twins, Ali and Aleeah, don’t get to bed until midnight .
“Ali and Aleeah came back from Corey’s last night and Jeremy is working and I’m actually starting to think splitting the week with Corey might be a good idea,” Messer tells the cameras in the Teen Mom 2 sneak peek.
While Ali clearly falls asleep on Messer’s couch at 10 p.m., the reality star proceeds to wake her up so that she can give her a bath. Meanwhile, her youngest daughter, 2-year-old Adalynn, has peed on the floor — and all over Messer’s pricey Ugg boots.
As the Teen Mom 2 sneak peek continues, Messer, at 10:40 p.m., tells her girls, “I have to go check the ravioli.” A half an hour later, the family is seen sitting down to eat. At midnight, they are finally seen being tucked into their beds.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Messer’s failure to get her kids to school, and at times, get them there at all, led her ex-husband, Corey Simms, to file for full custody . Although Simms was not awarded full custody when he and Messer went to court, he did receive an additional day, which he spoke of during a recent bonus clip from Teen Mom 2 .
“I’m glad it’s over, I’m just not exactly happy with the outcome. [I got] an extra day, but I feel like it needs to be more.”
According to Simms, who was not seen during the latest Teen Mom 2 sneak peek, Messer was unable to properly care for his daughters, which prompted him to attempt to take on some of the responsibilities for their daughters.
“I’d never try to take their mother’s place, but I get to spend time with them and have that bond with them and love them as if they were my own,” Simms’ wife, Miranda, added.
While nothing was changed at the time as far as legal custody was concerned, Simms said the judge on their case was ready to amend the agreement if Messer’s parenting abilities did not improve.
“The judge looked right at Leah and told her that if the girls are continuing being tardy and absent from school, then he is going to reverse it and give the girls to me during school time.”
