Demi Lovato’s highly-anticipated video for “Cool For The Summer” has finally arrived. Demi’s new video is colorful and sexy, much like the single’s official cover.

The new music video shows Lovato and her girl friends in a car on their way to a wild party. It also shows shots of Lovato doing hair flips and dancing around in strapped dress. The singer and her friends go to a party where there is a lot of lip-locking going on. “Cool For The Summer” may not be the song of the summer , but it will certainly set the scene for many pool parties.

J-14 Magazine has called Demi Lovato’s new music video “One epic dance party.”

“It’s one giant dance extravaganza to rival her lyric video, and we’re going to be playing this song all day.”

Demi has been promoting Max Martin’s-produced summer single all month long. During her interview with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show, Demi said that “ Cool For The Summer ” has several meanings.

“It’s very fun. It’s definitely more provocative. I just think the more you listen to it, the more things it can mean.”

The video shows the former Disney star wearing a series of seriously sexy outfits and a shorter haircut. Lovato even addressed her new look and sound on the radio show.

“It’s like I’ve spent so long just kind of people-pleasing, making everybody happy with being the best role model I can be.”

The “Really Don’t Care” singer said that she will still continue to be “outspoken” about mental health and addiction, but she also wants to address some other things.

“I have these things that make me a role model, but at the same time none of these things are really representing the bada** that I am. There’s a side of [me] that people don’t get to see with my past music, but it’s been there. It’s totally been there. And like, hey, just because I’m sober doesn’t mean that I’m judging anybody else for their stuff. And also, it doesn’t mean that I didn’t have a damn good time back then either. I’m having a good time sober — a better time for sure.”

“Cool For The Summer” has been confirmed as the first single off Lovato’s upcoming fifth studio album, due out later this year. This hot new song marks the next step of her music career, giving the singer an edgier sound.

“That’s what this album is: I’m no longer serious. I’m done with like the sob stories and the tales. New chapter, new life, new album, new single. This is a completely new Demi. There’s definitely a lot of provocative songs on the album. There’s also an element that I really wanted to bring to the music. One was the rock element. I wanted to bring back that kind of rock-pop music, but I have a lot of rhythmic flares in there as well. I don’t know! There’s so many things that I wanted to bring back. I grew up listening to soul music, and then I only listened to metal music for a while. So, I have all these influences that influenced this album and me growing up.”

Her single even got “cooler” with its very own remix. English house group, Cahill, released a six-minute version of the single which is somehow “ faster, fiercer and funkier than the original,” according to TIME magazine. Lovato is expected to release the rest of the remixes on Aug. 7.
