Stephanie Martinez, 3, was supposed to be having the time of her life while visiting Disneyland, but it all turned into a tragedy when a horrible accident resulted in the girl’s death.

According to police, the 3-year-old was visiting Disneyland in Anaheim, California, from Las Vegas with her family, when the accident happened. The family was staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel, about six-miles from the theme park, police and the Orange County Coroner’s office said.

A Go Fund Me page was established by the family, asking for help raising funds to pay for the little girl’s funeral.

“Please help us rise money for Stephanie Martinez’s (3-yearsold) funeral. We lost our little angel due to a tragic accident in Anaheim Califonia inside the embassy suites. She fell from the 5th floor, and passed away. Now we need help to bring our little angel back to Las Vegas to her resting home and give her a proper funeral. Please help us raise money for our little angel any little amout will help and will be more than beyond appreciated.”

As stated by the page, 3-year-old Stephanie Martinez was killed when she fell from one of the hotel’s balconies, located on the 5th floor. Talking to KVVU-TV , the distraught family said they saw the little girl dangling from the edge of the balcony just seconds before she plunged to her death, but couldn’t reach her in time.

The report says that while they were at their hotel, some of the family was downstairs in the courtyard and the 3-year-old’s mother was in the shower. The little girl wanted to join everyone downstairs and she was at the balcony rails when tragedy struck.

“Her mom came out to check up on her. She saw her hanging off the rails. She screamed, so the little girl got scared and fell down from the fifth floor,” a cousin, identified as Eddie Fraire said.

Fraire says he, the girl’s father, and others who were enjoying some time in the courtyard witnessed the horrific fall and tried to catch Stephanie. However, everything happened too fast and they were not able to save the toddler and she was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The late 3-year-old Stephanie Martinez was described as a happy little girl who was always smiling and dressing up in princess costumes.

“(She was usually) running around, dressing up, you know, simple things that a little girl would want to do,” Fraire said. “Unfortunately, she left us at an early age.”

The 3-year-old girl’s parents are of modest means. Her mother works as a housekeeper and the dad is in construction.
