Netflix, the subscription streaming service, received more nods than ever before, as the nominations for the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this week.

Netflix received 34 total nominations for a string of original programs that it aired this year, including House of Cards , Orange Is the New Black , Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt , Bloodline , and Grace and Frankie .

Netflix originals House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black , have been nominated and won in years past, but Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt , Bloodline , and Grace and Frankie are new to Netflix this year, and they are garnering praise in important categories.

Lily Tomlin received a nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Grace and Frankie . Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt received nominations in the categories of Outstanding Comedy Series, Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Casting in a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Comedy Series.

Absent from the comedy categories is the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black , which received 12 nominations in comedy series categories in 2014. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences implemented a new rule for the 2015 awards season, forcing hour-long series like Orange Is the New Black , to be entered in the drama series categories instead of comedy. This new rule pitches the popular series against another Netflix heavy-hitter in the drama genre, House of Cards .

House of Cards received the most nominations of all the nominated Netflix programs, receiving 11 Emmy nominations. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt received seven nods, followed by Orange Is the New Black with four nominations.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt has been a breakout hit for Netflix, a series that NBC had originally snagged, then sold to the popular streaming service.

Though Netflix has consistently seen their original programming grow in popularity and critical acclaim over the past three years, it has yet to overtake traditional network television and cable channels.

Non-cable nominations, which include the major networks, ABC, CBS, CW, Fox, NBC, and PBS, collectively received 191 Emmy nominations for 2015, according to a report released by The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

And cable channels garnered the greatest acknowledgment with 314 nominations overall. HBO alone received a phenomenal 126 nominations, 24 of which belong to their series Game of Thrones , according to USA Today .

Netflix, by far, received the greatest number of nominations amongst its competitors in the broadband category, but it is already beginning to see some significant competition in that field. Amazon Instant Video, primarily due to its original series Transparent , garnered 11 nominations, with this being its first year in the Emmy run.

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will be hosted by Andy Samberg, and will air September 20 on Fox.
