Cleveland Cavaliers: LeBron James Says He Has ‘Nightmares’ Over NBA Finals Loss

When the Cleveland Cavaliers were downed by the Golden State Warriors in six games to wrap up the 2015 NBA Finals, it was obviously a brutal blow to the city of Cleveland. The Cavaliers and Cleveland as a whole yearned for their first championship in the past 51 years, but unfortunately, 2015 just wasn’t meant to be their year.

Apparently, one of the best players in the world is still facing the brutal loss as well, according to ESPN .

“I guess there’s nightmares now about situations throughout the games that’s always replaying in my head, LeBron James said. It’s definitely difficult, you know I’m getting better every day, but you know it takes quite a while for me to get out of the funk.”

The leader of the Cleveland Cavaliers is working on moving on, as he told Bleacher Report on Sirius XM , but in all honesty, you really can’t blame him for needing time. While the city of Cleveland is obviously still heartbroken by the loss in the NBA Finals, they did get some good news when LeBron James decided to re-sign this offseason.

Re-signing while still having nightmares about the recent loss? Hey, give the man some credit for still trying to make the push to bring that title to the Cavaliers.

If a picture could speak a thousand words, then this one from the YES Network pretty much sums up how James, as well as the entire Cleveland Cavaliers organization felt.

Fortunately, the Cavaliers are likely to be right back in the mix for a title in 2016, thanks to the return of both James and big man Kevin Love. The Cavaliers also of course still have point guard Kyrie Irving as well.

While James and a few other Cleveland natives may be having nightmares about the loss, you can’t really blame James for not being able to pull out the miracle. Obviously, the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player did all he could after seeing both Love and Irving go down for the Cavaliers at different points during the 2015 NBA Playoffs.

According to the statistics from ESPN , James was simply on another planet in the Finals (but you didn’t need stats to know that). He averaged 45.8 minutes, 35.8 points, 13.3 rebounds, 8.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. The leader of the Cavaliers also posted two triple-doubles, while being two assists or less shy of another three triple-doubles.

Could you imagine a player posting five triple-doubles in six games? Shoot, even with the numbers above, it’s not hard to understand why James is having nightmares about the loss.
