The Painter of Light ‘s story just got a bit darker as it appears Thomas Kinkade had been secretly living with his mistress, Amy Pinto-Walsh, for eighteen months in his mansion in Los Gatos, California, prior to his death.

Thomas’ widow Nanette Kinkade and the Kinkade Family Trust have filed a temporary restraining order against Thomas Kinkade’s mistress, which the Los Gatos Patch reports is intended to ban Pinto-Walsh from:

“Engaging in conduct that has the effect of defaming, criticizing, disparaging or discrediting Kinkade, Nanette Kinkade, or any company owned by Kinkade to appear in a negative light or false light.”

The request for an injunction against the painter’s live-in girlfriend will be heard by Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Patricia Lucas on Tuesday.

Thomas Kinkade died at the age of 54, with his mistress Amy Pinto-Walsh reportedly at his side at the time of death inside of his Monte Sereno estate on Ridgecrest Drive. Amy was quoted having said in an interview:

“He died in his sleep. […] He had a heart condition.”

Court documents indicate that the filed injunction requests that the court prevents Pinto-Walsh from trading, selling, publishing, disclosing, producing, permitting access to or otherwise revealing proprietary information to anyone by means of electronic media, reproduction, or photocopy. The order also entails a confidentiality agreement which prevents Amy from revealing any trade secrets or other private information regarding the Kinkade family or businesses:

“[…] which she learned in her role as a personal assistant and companion to Thomas Kinkade.”
