World of Tanks has already been battling on the Xbox 360 for a year now the Xbox One Edition is preparing for deployment. Wargaming Inc. announced an open beta for the tank shooter this weekend on the Xbox One, with bonuses coming to those that participate.

The World of Tanks: Xbox One Edition open beta will take place on Saturday, July 11, starting at 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT and end on Monday, July 13, at the same time. Those interested in participating can begin downloading the beta build from the Xbox Store starting Friday, July 10.

Players that log into World of Tanks: Xbox One Edition anytime during the beta will receive the Premium American Tier 3 M22 Locust light tank, or 180,000 in silver if they already own it. An extra garage slot will also be awarded.

Additionally, all players that download the game prior to its July 28 release date will receive the American tier II T1E6-X1 premium light tank. It features an exclusive World of Tanks shield emblem, plus an exclusive camouflage pattern.

Wargaming is also looking to stress test the game’s servers during the two-day beta period this weekend, and is giving double XP and a 2X Battle Operation to use later. Players will need to do battle in the beta between the hours of 2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT and 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT on either Saturday or Sunday to receive these bonuses.

At the same time, the 1.12 update was released for World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition to prepare for the launch of the Xbox One beta. If you are wondering why, it is because World of Tanks features cross-play between the new console and the last-gen console versions of the game. That means cross-play will be part of the open beta this weekend.

Maps in World of Tanks were completely rebuilt for the Xbox One, and some of the same improvements are being delivered to the Xbox 360 version, too. The map rotation will be altered through the beta weekend to ensure everyone is playing on the same map. Not all of the currently available maps are ready for the Xbox One yet, but here is the map list that is confirmed for the beta test.
