As Inquisitr reported previously, Kurt Angle is scheduled to undergo neck surgery on a tumor that was found on his neck. Angle announced this to fans personally during the latest TNA Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando. Angle went on to tell the fans that he will be taking some time off following the surgery for recovery.

Today, Kurt released a statement which included some more information concerning the tumor that was found on his neck, as well as how long he expects to be out of action.

“To update all of you that have asked and commented about my neck: The tumor is benign and my surgery is next week. I will be out of action for about a month and I’ll be coming back better than ever! Thank you all for your incredible support. Your comments have kept my spirits high throughout this trying time. Much Love, Kurt.”

Angle can certainly afford to miss more time than a month, as TNA recently taped several episodes of Impact Wrestling . All episodes of the show through early to mid August are already filmed and ready to go. The question is, will there be another set of Impact Wrestling tapings?

According to TNA’s official website, their next round of Impact Wrestling television tapings will occur at the end of July. Angle’s mention of being out of action for around a month time leaves those dates in jeopardy. If he were to perform at the late July tapings, it would put his recovery time at under one month’s time.

The late July television tapings are scheduled to include all episodes of Impact Wrestling for airing through the end of September and beyond. The end of September date is key, as that could be the end of Impact Wrestling having a place on television.

Several weeks back, Dave Meltzer reported that Destination America is not planning on continuing their relationship with TNA when their current contract comes up at the end of September. Destination America has yet to refute the report of the network planning on cancelling Impact Wrestling , so the odds of TNA continuing on the channel don’t appear to be good. It’s possible Kurt Angle has wrestled his last match on Destination America for TNA Wrestling.

Angle is also scheduled to appear next weekend in Waterloo, Iowa, for the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall Of Fame. Angle was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012, but he was unable to attend the ceremony that year. Waterloo’s National Wrestling Hall Of Fame Dan Gable Museum has not yet released a statement on Angle’s upcoming surgery, so it appears that he is still planning on attending the hall of fame ceremony on July 11.
