The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 will not include NeNe Leakes. After starring on the show since its first season, the longtime reality star, and occasional actress, has opted out of filming on the show’s upcoming installment.
According to a June 30 report by Real Mr. Housewife , celebrity insider Mark Behar recently spoke out about the possible reasons behind Leakes’ sudden exit from The Real Housewives of Atlanta .
“She can’t handle being told what to do, and if she doesn’t like what you tell her, she dismisses it and you and revolts against authority.”
Behar claimed that while Leakes recently signed a deal to appear on Kim Kardashian’s iPhone game, there may soon be trouble between them.
“Kim Kardashian will have control and ‘the word,’ not Nene and as such- this will cause a riff between them both, with any and all business ventures and decisions that they may embark on.”
In addition, claimed Behar, Leakes is currently at odds with the majority of her co-stars on The Real Housewives of Atlanta , including Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore, both of whom will likely return to the show for Season 8.
“She’s really not liked at all by most of the show’s other cast members, and most have had enough of her prima donna attitude and on-set/filming demands.”
Behar went on to claim there was a major possibility Leakes will eventually return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta .
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Leakes explained her exit from The Real Housewives of Atlanta during an interview with People Magazine just hours later. On June 30, Leakes told the magazine a weight had been lifted when she decided to walk away from Bravo .
“This was definitely a hard decision for me. Me and my husband [Gregg Leakes] have been going back and forth on it for weeks now. But my contract is up and I just think this is the right time. This is my opportunity to spread my wings and do different things.”
Leakes went on to reveal that her post- Real Housewives of Atlanta life will include a primetime television show with a “big legend,” and that many of her “one liners” from The Real Housewives of Atlanta would be featured.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 production is expected to begin production in the coming weeks. No word yet on who will be included in the cast.
