One Direction star Liam Payne thanks a reviewer who said that they would definitely attend a Liam solo show, the internet goes crazy. Cue a rash of stories that Liam Payne is quitting One Direction to forge a solo career. It is an all-too-familiar tale, one that Liam and his One Direction band-mates have to put up with on an almost daily basis and one that they must get totally sick of. Admittedly, Liam and his pals have had a difficult few months, and Directioners are nervous that the band could split at the end of this year when their contract with Simon Cowell’s SyCo expires.

According to Heatworld, the latest furor blew up after a One Direction fan wrote a review of the boy band’s concert in Oslo. The review praised Liam’s performance throughout the show, and his singing in particular, and said that Payne was a “joy to watch.”

“In conclusion I would definitely attend a Liam Payne concert. He was a joy to watch and looked like he belonged on that stage.

With his talents I do believe he has the power to go beyond 1D. He has a big future ahead of him. Payne loves his fans, loves his boys, loves the music and it’s obvious.”

Payne spotted the review and took to Twitter to thank the writer saying simply “thank you, that really means a lot to me.”

According to Unreality TV , that simple message of thanks by Payne spawned near panic amongst One Direction fans and lead to a rash of tabloid speculation that he was quitting the band.

It would seem that the panic was caused by a One Direction fan who tweeted that she was “freaking out about that review about Liam going solo.”

Payne was quick to respond saying that he hadn’t meant to infer anything other than what the reviewer had said about him “loving his boys and his job.”

@CurlyLiamx I didn’t mean like that hun I meant about loving my boys my job and the music and that in a show people can see that ?

If you were ever in any doubt about the depth of One Direction fans’ obsession, the person who sent the tweet reveals that she has sent Payne 36,000 messages asking him to follow her on Twitter.

When your fans are that obsessed, is it any wonder that rumors take root and spread so easily? At least One Direction fans can breathe more easily, as it appears that Liam Payne isn’t about to quit One Direction or go solo anytime soon.
