Rep. Allen West apparently wants to be the 21st century version of Joe McCarthy, telling nearly 100 visitors at a town hall event in Florida on Tuesday night that he recently “heard” that 80 House Democrats are actually members of the Communist Party.
We wouldn’t really expect much else from the tea party favorite who has a tendency to make grandiose statements without a single shred of proof or even an intelligent argument to back up his ideas and random hate filled thoughts that he spews onto members of the Tea Party who bother to attend his events.
At that same gathering West then claimed he was referring to the Congressional Progressive Caucus which is the the largest Democratic caucus with more than 75 active members.
After making his statement Allen West then went on to criticize President Obama for his handling of oil drilling and tax cuts. West told an audience of nearly 100 people that President Barack Obama was “scared” to debate him over those issues because he would lose.
West told those in attendance:
“I really wish that, standing here before you, was Allen West and President Obama” and “We could have a simple discussion. But that ain’t ever gonna happen.”
After he made his statement an audience member shouted “why not” to which Allen West responded “Cuz he was too scared.”
West reminds me of the crazy lunatic standing on a milk carton on a street corner shouting about the end of days, perhaps President Obama doesn’t want to debate him for the same reason we don’t stand around arguing with crazy end of the world guy, it’s pointless because they just keep shouting ridiculous statements with zero proof to back up the fallacies they have created in their heads.
