A woman with Asperger’s Syndrome has posted a video of her service dog helping calm her down during what she calls a “meltdown.” According to the New York Daily News , Danielle Jacobs decided to post the video online , and she is now being praised for being so brave.
“This really happened, and it’s not easy to open myself and share what it’s like on a daily basis. This is what’s considered a meltdown,” Jacobs wrote.
In the video, Jacobs’ dog, Samson, is seen trying to stop her from harming herself. As she hits herself continuously, Samson tries to get in her way. He doesn’t give up, and eventually showers her with lots of licks when she’s on the ground. According to KHOU , Samson gets Jacob’s to calm down in about one minute.
Due to her Asperger’s, Jacobs says that she has these recurring “meltdowns,” and that they are usually followed by anxiety attacks. Samson has been a great help to her.
