Could Kim Fields be added to the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta for Season 8? With filming on the upcoming installment expected to begin soon, fans are wondering about possible cast changes, and on June 15, Wetpaint Entertainment reported that the former Facts Of Life actress may be on board.
According to the site, NeNe Leakes, Kenya Moore, and Kandi Burruss are the only wives who have been asked back thus far, and fans should expect to see some new faces — possibly one of a professional dancer in addition to Kim Fields.
Last week, the Philadelphia Tribune reported the following in regard to Kim Fields’ alleged addition to The Real Housewives of Atlanta .
“Another former child star is headed to TV. I hear Kim Fields (Tootie from The Facts of Life and Regine from Living Single ) is joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Bravo. The 46-year-old actress and director is married with two kids, and Fields has turned her life over to Christ. Producers are looking for a storyline about her husband, who is whispered to be bi-sexual.”
For the past couple of months, producers have reportedly been on the hunt for an ally for NeNe Leakes. On the show, Leakes has claimed many of the women turn against her in an effort to get publicity for themselves, which has nearly led her to quit. Could Kim Fields be her new ally? It’s certainly a possibility. There’s no doubt that producers want to keep NeNe Leakes on the show, so bringing in new cast members is necessary at this point in the game.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Leakes was on the verge of quitting The Real Housewives of Atlanta after Season 7 wrapped earlier this year. At the time, a source revealed the following to Radar Online.
“NeNe hates everything about RHOA and she’s sick of it all. She hates Kenya [Moore] and Claudia [Jordan] so much and she thinks they’re bringing the show down. NeNe wants to make sure all of her other projects are going well and making her money. She spends all of her time working on her other money deals and she doesn’t care about Housewives right now. NeNe is so annoyed at everything and everyone this season and she is super stubborn so she isn’t going to back down anytime soon.”
Kim Fields has yet to speak out about her possible role on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8.
