Jessica Simpson will have a new step dad. Her mom, Tina Simpson, is reportedly engaged to her boyfriend, Jon Goldstein, who’s also her long-time gardener. The 55-year-old mom brought Goldstein to Jessica’s wedding last July 4 at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, and it’s been on ever since.
Jon owns the Beverly Hills-based Jonny Appleseed Landscaping which, according to a British magazine, Daily Mail , counts the Bel-Air Hotel as client. He’s been a landscaper for the Simpson family for over 15 years.
Us Weekly reports that mom Tina Simpson released a statement saying “After 2 years of dating, Jon Goldstein and Tina Simpson are engaged. They are thrilled and completely in love!”
“He’s a really nice guy,” a source close to Simpson told Us Weekly . “He’s always cared about Tina … He’s known them for 15 years and has been a part of their family.”
So, did she say yes? Of course, and “he’s so happy she said yes! I know he had been planning on asking her for a while,” a Simpson family friend reports.
Tina took to Instagram to show off the ring, posting “He put a ring on it #intheclouds #gardener4life #loveofmylife”

Jessica’s mom has been on the market for a while, since her split with ex-husband Joe Simpson over two years ago, after 34 years together. They finalized their divorce in April, 2013, and an official statement said it was “an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false.”
Jessica Simpson has been partying a little too hard lately, with allegations that she’s abusing Adderall, according to reports. The 34-year-old singer and weight-loss product endorser shocked onlookers when she required Eric’s help to leave a Los Angeles nightclub, and sources believe she’s struggling with substance abuse issues. She also tried to prevent her dress from slipping while leaving the nightclub.
Jessica is a mom herself and has two children with husband Eric: a daughter, Maxwell Drew, and a son, Ace Knute. Simpson rose to fame as a singer and for her marriage to ex-husband, Nick Lachey, who claimed in 2014 he was glad he didn’t have children with Jessica .
Tina is a mom of two , and grandmother of three, including Maxwell, 3, Ace, 2, and Bronx, 6. Daughters Jessica Simpson and Ashlee are reportedly over the moon that their mom is so excited. “They’re happy that their mom is happy,” another source told Us Weekly .
