The Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson collaboration “Uptown Funk” managed to keep atop the charts and generate a never-ending supply of fan-made variations. BuzzFeed attempted to explain the obsession with Bruno Mars and this song. You can’t quantify it. It’s just too funky to calculate.

“Uptown Funk” couldn’t keep itself off the charts if it wanted to. Neither could Bruno Mars. As reported by Billboard , the song has been No. 1 on the Billboard 100 chart longer than any other song this decade. Just two more weeks and Mars could have tied with Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men for longest charting No. 1 song ever.

Before we get started, let’s take another look at the original version . This genius showcase of Bruno Mars’ music and dance inspired the trend.

The “Uptown Funk” “Oldtown Cover” by Alex Boye’ is genius. He switches out a young Bruno for a much older Alex. It works! And he injects an African flavor into the whole thing.

Here’s a suburban mom parody called “Suburban Funk.” It’s all yoga pants and dirty laundry. This is authentic. Bruno’s version might brag and boast, but the moms give it to you straight. The song contains everything you need to know about life in the suburbs.

Some talented schoolkids put together this version of “Uptown Funk” by Ky Baldwin. These young Australians had the help of family members. Their dance moves are amazingly on par with Bruno Mars and the crew.

The next one is called “Up Down Dunk.” I wish all cooking videos were this funky. This makes anyone crave for those fattening, gooey delights. What a great concept in instructional video. You’ll be a funky, Bruno Mars-dancing, donut-making fool.

Impressionist Mikey Bolts switched between the voices of various cartoon characters for different lines of the Bruno Mars song. He’s a one-man cartoon band. Not even Mars could pull that off.

Here’s a hard-hitting version of “Uptown Funk” with more harmony and an acoustic sound. It’s funky and soulful. Good job guys.

Here’s “Uptown Funk” glistening with a girl group sound. The added harmony make this great, along with all the girl group style ad libs.

This nice rock version rounds out our list of some of the best parodies and cover versions of Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson’s hit song. Let us know which version you like best. Or if you have a favorite that isn’t here, tell us about it.
