The upcoming DC Comics movie adaptation Suicide Squad has been causing a stir online for weeks. From costuming to casting, every aspect of the movie’s development is leaving fans reeling and dying for more. Now, production of the villain-centric movie has taken to the streets, invading the everyday lives of the unsuspecting residents of downtown Toronto, Canada.
The staging of a huge plane crash on Yonge street for Suicide Squad has caused an influx of photos over social media, including Instagram and Twitter, showing the remains of the prop aircraft and shrapnel scattered across the cordoned off road.

Director David Ayer, responsible for major motion pictures such The Fast and the Furious , has been playing his cards close to his chest for Suicide Squad, giving us only a taste of what we can expect from the costuming last month. Character designs for both Harley Quinn , played by Wolf of Wall Street ‘s Margot Robbie, and Oscar award winner Jared Leto’s Joker were controversial online, as fans of the Suicide Squad comic series were stunned by the iconic villain’s representation in the movies.
The photos of the plane crash scene are some of the first major indicators of the content to come, causing a stir in the fans hotly anticipating the arrival of the finished movie. Very few Suicide Squad scenes in production have made it to the public as of yet, with the exception of one scene in which Jared Leto’s Joker is seen roaring onto the scene in a glossy sports car, sporting the licence plate “HAHAHA” before passionately kissing Dr. Harleen Quinzel prior to her descent into the obsession and madness that creates her alter-ego, Harley Quinn.
IMDB describes the plot of Suicide Squad as “a secret government agency recruits imprisoned super villains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency”, an echo of the original plot for the comics of the same name. As well as offering a vivid, brutal, and often hilarious series of villainous antics, Suicide Squad served an important role in filling in some minor plot holes in the DC comics universe, serving as an explanation as to why many major name felons are able to roam the streets of Gotham freely.
On top of Margot Robbie and Jared Leto, the full cast for Suicide Squad includes several huge names in the industry including Will Smith (Deadshot), Cara Delevigne (Enchantress), and Ben Affleck (Batman). Suicide Squad is expected to hit theaters August 5 2016.
