During the ceremony, Yeezus seemed extremely humbled as he walked across the stage at the Art Institute of Chicago. Kanye’s hard work and diversified music appears to continue to pay off after all these years. But the honor doesn’t just come from Dr. West’s songs. It also comes from his social influence and fashion commitments and uniqueness.
After being introduced, Yeezy gave a mind-opening speech. From Kanye’s lyrics, you may already know that he can be quite astute. Yet, Dr. West’s speech attempts to shed new light on his insightfulness. As an increase in Yeezus’ net worth, his speech goes as follows. He began by saying that he was sorry.
“I am a pop artist. So, my medium is public opinion. And the world is my canvas. ‘I’m sorry’ is something you can use a lot. It gives you the opportunity to give your opinion, apologize for it, and give your opinion again. People say, ‘You shouldn’t be sorry for your opinions’…”

“I felt my nerves a bit. And I don’t feel that feeling a lot. The nerves of humility and modesty when being honored… a humanization… a reality of being recognized. And all I thought, as I sit here kind of shaking a little bit, is ‘I need to get rid of that feeling!’ I need to not be nervous. This honor is going to make your lives easier.”
