A University of South Carolina student is in hot water after some of her questionable activities were caught on video. Apparently, she and her roommates aren’t the best of friends, and they’ve reportedly been at odds for quite sometime. Tired of the ongoing disagreements, one of the young ladies decided to seek revenge. Now, she’s facing felony charges .
According to WIS-TV , Hayley King obviously had absolutely no idea her roommates had installed surveillance cameras in their off-campus apartment. If she did she probably wouldn’t have poisoned their food. It has been reported that the two roommates were quite suspicious about King’s behavior, so they installed cameras in the apartment out of fear that she’d do something to harm them.
According to The State , surveillance footage showed the 22-year-old going into the refrigerator and contaminating multiple food containers that belonged to her roommates. At one point she’s seen spitting in the food. However, that’s not all.
Things took a potentially deadly turn when King poured household cleaner and Windex into some of the food containers. Then, to make matters worse, one of the roommates actually ate out of one of the contaminated food containers. The shocking surveillance footage was turned over to the Columbia Police Department. When King was questioned by investigators, she reportedly confessed to the crimes.
The relieved roommates have released statements about the shocking incident. However, they have opted to remain nameless. One of the roommates revealed how the ordeal has effected her personal life.
“The aftermath… caused me to fall behind in my classes,” one of King’s roommates said. “I was forced to switch out of one of my courses because I was so distracted with everything going on. This not only affected me physically, having to deal with the repercussions of the incident, but also mentally from the anxiety that came along with it.”
Hayley King has been charged with unlawful, malicious tampering with a human drug product/food. She faces a maximum of 20 years behind bars if convicted.
