LeAnn Rimes might do a better job checking her carry-on items next time.

The singer-turned-reality television star accidentally set off a fire alarm in an airplane bathroom on a flight from Canada to Los Angeles when she sprayed dry shampoo aerosol, though the flight was able to land as scheduled and Rimes won’t face any discipline.

Though it was an embarrassing moment, LeAnn Rimes was able to maintain a sense of humor about all of it. Not long after landing, she tweeted to her more than 500,000 followers:

Leave it up to me to set off the fire alarm in the airplane bathroom w/ @theDrybar dry shampoo #purecomedy #firsttimeforeverything

LeAnn Rimes knows firsthand just how dangerous flying can be. Last year, she was in an Aspen airport when a private jet ran off the runway, bursting into flames and killing co-pilot Sergio Carranza Brabata. Two others passengers were injured, including one in critical condition.

Rimes was left shaken after witnessing the crash, and tweeted about it to followers.”Counting out blessings even more after seeing a tragedy & driving 7 hrs to Denver through tons of snow and traffic. Would have missed our flight if it wasn’t delayed.”

“We are being watched over, that’s for sure,” she wrote. “The boys [stepsons Mason and Jake] have been fantastic helpers. Eddie [Cibrian] is a stud for getting us through a VERY crowded airport with ease. @united your team in Denver was incredibly helpful as I know they were all very stressed.”

“Hope all the other travelers make it home safely,” she added, “and many prayers for the victims & their families of the #aspencrash in this heartbreaking time.”

Actor Kevin Nealon also witnessed the crash, and like Rimes he was left quite shaken, tweeting:

“Horrible plane crash here at Aspen airport. Exploded into flames as it was landing. I think it was a private jet… Fire truck and ambulances were on the scene within minutes. I don’t believe there are any survivors.”

This week’s on-flight mishap was quite a bit different for Rimes, who joked about the incident with photographers in the airport afterward.

When asked whether other passengers might have been in danger, Rimes laughed it off.

“I don’t think I would go that far,” she replied.

But LeAnn Rimes will likely be a bit more careful about what she brings onto the next flight.
