Production on the latest Bond movie, “Skyfall,” is currently underway in London and the first photos of the new Bond villain have leaked. Javier Bardem plays the new villain, Silva, who was photographed dressed up as a Metropolitan police officer.
Little is known about Bardem’s character or the plot of the 23rd Bond movie.
MovieTalk reports that Bond’s agency is under attack in the new film and “007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
Bardem isn’t a stranger to playing the villain. The Spanish actor won an Oscar in 2007 for his portrayal of Anton Chigurh in “No Country For Old Men” in 2007.
During a press conference for the new movie, Bardem said that he didn’t look at playing Silva as playing a bad person.
Bardem said:
‘Who told you a villain is a bad person? For me, it’s an honour to be at this table for many reasons. It will be fun to do.”
Bardem will be joined in “Skyfall” by Daniel Craig, Albert Finney, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, and Naomi Harris. French model Berenice Marlohe has been cast as the newest Bond girl, Severine.
