The Avengers ‘ Scarlett Johansson may be considering her own Marvel movie. As is currently known, Natasha Romanov, or Black Widow, is a popular character within the superhero team. Black Widow could be a movie to look forward to in the future.
If you don’t know, the Avengers films have been directed by Joss Whedon. Though he wasn’t the director of the teams’ individual movies, many think his Avengers perspective has been among the best. Now, Whedon has spoken that Scarlett Johansson, or more so Black Widow, must have her own movie.
In Marvel’s movies, Black Widow has appeared as a sidekick or “help” the other Avengers — not necessarily one to lead the way or have her own solo project.
However, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight , Scarlett responded to Whedon’s Black Widow forecast.
“From his lips to Marvel’s ears, I guess. I’ll do it, if he’ll direct it. There you go…there you go, Joss.”
It seems that Johansson’s movie would only come to life with Whedon at the helm. If this were to be true, you could possibly expect similar cinematography during Black Widow’s movie as in Avengers. However, until that happens, Scarlett goes on to discuss another role she’ll be continuing.
“I’ll be back for Captain America: 3. We start shooting that, I guess, in like a month or something like that? So, there’ll be more Widow.”
As you may have noticed, Johansson’s movie hasn’t been officially announced. However, Scarlett does mention how the Avengers’ fans could make it happen.
“Maybe they could do some kind of hashtag, like ‘#JossDirectWidow’ or something like that. There has to be a better one than ‘#JossDirectWidow’, I don’t know.”
Well, the pressure is on — apparently because Whedon says that this is his last Avengers movie . Though the crowds and turnouts end up rendering more viewers than expected, Johansson’s director says that it would not change his mind about calling it quits on the movie series.
“I have regret. It’s a no-win situation. I love the characters, and I love the whole cast — my crew, my [?]… everybody…
“I’m gonna be sad when I go home and sleep. I’m going to wake up, and I’m still gonna be sad. I’m gonna lay around for a while being sad, instead of rushing something. [No] I’m not going to change my mind.”
It seems that Scarlett’s Avengers director is pretty much set in his decision, and there’s possibly nothing to sway him otherwise.
