Deion Sanders is being sued for $200 million dollars by his soon to be ex-wife Pilar.
According to the Dallas News, Pilar is suing Deion for libelous and slanderous comments posted on Twitter. Deiondra Sanders, the football player’s daughter, allegedly wrote that Pilar was “the number one gold digger of the year” on Twitter.
If $200 million sounds a little high for a Twitter lawsuit, Deion agrees. The athlete talked about the lawsuit on The Ben and Skin Show this morning and said:
“Where are they going to get that money from? That’s just like me suing a homeless dude for a burger and some fries. (We) wouldn’t be talking about it if it wasn’t such an absurd number.”
Deion filed for divorce from Pilar last December after 12 years of marriage.
The suit also alleges that Pilar was assaulted by Dein’s aunt. Pilar claims that Deion’s aunt Laura Jones attacked her at the couple’s home last month. Deion was also named in the incident as Pilar claims that the hall of famer encouraged the assault.
Deion said that the legal battles with his wife are frivolous and uncalled for. Deion said:
“There’s a way to do things and a way not to do things. I don’t use the media as a platform to fight my battles. You know, I speak up for myself… All this mess is just to distract me.”
