It’s probably too soon to make Whitney Houston jokes and that likely is what led to Target pulling an offensive Whitney Houston greeting card from store shelves.

The card in question was already on store shelves before Whitney Houston’s death and it pokes fun at people who date bad boys, making reference to Houston’s former marriage to bad boy Bobby Brown.

According to the greeting card:

“Next time you think of dating the bad boy, consider Whitney Houston.”

Before her death the card was likely considered pretty funny to many people however the retail chain decided that it should be pulled form store shelves given the singers recent death.

A representative for Target tells TMZ :

“The card was in our stores prior to Ms. Houston’s death. As soon as this was brought to our attention, we began the process of removing the card from all applicable stores.”

This might mark the first time when a company since Whitney Houston’s death didn’t actually try to capitalize off her death by raising prices on Houston products or sharing them front and center inside their retail locations.

Do you think Target’s decision to pull the Whitney Houston greeting card was the right decision to make or should they have allowed users to choose whether they want to buy the greeting card?
