Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson is set to have a huge week in the limelight. He will be on Saturday Night Live this weekend to promote his new move, “Fast 7.” Rock isn’t making headlines in Hollywood exclusively. The former WWE champion has been linked to the WWE in the past few days. His involvement with WrestleMania, but it could contain a new match in the future.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported a rumo r that Brock Lesnar and the Rock will wrestle at WrestleMania 32. Of course, it’s only a rumor right now. Take the report as a rumor until it gains more traction, or even if it’s confirmed. Since the rumor became public, the Rock commented on the possibility of a WWE return.

Overall, Rock is open to a WWE return to the ring, but the right pieces will have to be in place for it to work. One key variable is the status of Brock Lesnar following this year’s WrestleMania. His contract is set to expire the night after ‘Mania. More recently, the Rock will be on TV to promote his new movie, but also to presumably promote something else.

According to Ringside News, there’s speculation brewing that Rock might make a huge announcement regarding his former-employer.

“With WWE promoting Rock’s SNL appearance as part of their WrestleMania 31 Week TV Schedule, there’s some speculation that he may make a WWE-related announcement while hosting. Rock’s SNL gig was booked to promote Fast 7.”

If the WWE can pull the proper strings and return to the WWE next year, a match with Brock Lesnar would be a long-time coming. Since Lesnar talked about last week how he sent the Rock to Hollywood in 2002, a rematch would excite every WWE fan around. The promos between Paul Heyman and Rock are definitely something to get excited about.

As far as the Rock’s exact words on a match with Lesnar next year, he didn’t shy away from the question, when prompted.

“In Dallas? Possibly. There’s a lot of things that are up in the air. Lots of things are up in the air. We’ll see. I would love that remach.”

“You want to create something that’s going to be sepcial, memorable, especially in Dallas at that stadium you have a shot at breaking the attendance record. It’s got to be special.”

If the rumors about Undertaker and Sting next year come true, the card for next year’s WrestleMania will blow the roof off the AT&T Stadium. WWE might have Brock Lesnar and the Rock, with Sting and the Undetaker headlining the show. Both are only rumors right now, so until something is confirmed, wait for it to be public.
