Paul McCartney was honored Friday with the MusiCares Person Of The Year award. At the event, stars such as Katy Perry , Coldplay, Tony Bennett and a whole lot more took to the stage to sing some of McCartney’s greatest hits throughout his 50-year career.

Perry was seen at the concert in a flamboyant pink hat and long dress. She kicked off her bit with a rendition of ‘Live And Let Die’ with her backing band, but then she took everyone by surprise when she switched it up and started singing ‘Hey Jude’.

McCartney, who is nearing 70 years old, received recognition for his musical achievements at the event, which takes place just a few days ahead of the Grammys. “It’s great for me to be here,” he told the crowd. “It’s fantastic to hear all these fantastic artists doing my songs.”

Katy Perry wasn’t the only singer to pay homage to McCartney by singing one of the superstars’ tracks. Coldplay got on the stage, saying “”We love Paul and we’re happy to be here,” before launching into “We Can Work It Out”. After Alicia Keys and many more stars belted out a few tunes on stage, Mr. McCartney himself took to the stage momentarily.

Perry is scheduled to perform again very soon, this time at the Grammys on Sunday.
