Transgender teen and TLC Reality TV Star Jazz Jennings has been awarded the role of spokesmodel for Clean & Clear’s new ad campaign, “See the Real Me.” She is the first transgender person to be featured in an ad by the company.

As stated in the Huffington Post , the idea behind the campaign is to get people to send in their personal stories using the hashtag #SeeTheRealMe on social media to promote natural beauty.

People Magazine reports Jennings is representing Clean & Clear in a video which shows her hanging out with her friends and playing with her cat.

“Growing up has been quite a struggle being transgender, especially in middle school,” she says in the video. “But the real me is happy, and proud to be who I am. I’m just having fun being one of the girls.”

Jazz is 14-years-old and has a very low-maintenance beauty routine. When asked about what she does each day, Jazz explained her process.

“I don’t really use a lot of products besides Clean & Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub because I don’t put on a lot of makeup,” she told PopSugar . “In the morning when I wake up, I’ll exfoliate. Then at night when I shower, I’ll also use an exfoliating scrub. My routine is easy, and I just get clean skin,” she explained.

The young woman, who was born a male, began to transition to female when she was six years old. Jazz said she knew she was a girl early on.

In addition to her role as spokesmodel for Clean & Clear, the aspiring model was also named one of Time Magazine’s 25 most influential teens of 2014. She has published a book geared toward transgender children and she is about to start filming her new show for TLC named “All That Jazz.” The show will cover the teen as she navigates her daily life — high school, friends and dating.

“I’ve learned that no matter what your differences are, you have to embrace them and be proud of the way you are,” Jazz told PopSugar . “If I wasn’t confident in who I am or didn’t like the fact that I was transgender, then I would not have gotten as far as I have today. Also, if you accept yourself, then you’ll find that others will accept you as well, and having that support is really reassuring.”
