Lena Dunham Scared Of Tinder? It’s ‘A Tool For Murder’

Actress Lena Dunham is apparently not a big fan of the popular dating app, Tinder.

In a recent interview that featured all of the leading ladies from the hit HBO series Girls , Lena responded to a tweeted question referencing Tinder by stating why the dating app actually scares her.

“Tinder scares me. I think it’s a tool for murder.”

From the numerous posts on Twitter about Tinder, it seems as if Lena Dunham is not the only person admitting to being scared of the mobile application for one reason or another.

Some are scared of the actual people that they have come across thanks to Tinder — whether they wanted to do so or not.

I’m scared of some of the ppl I see on Tinder lol I’ll pass

Others are scared by the mere concept of Tinder overall.

On a completely different note, there are quite a few people that love using Tinder and are only scared of missing golden opportunities to meet their matches for one reason or another.

I’m always scared I just left swiped the love of my life #tinder #tinderfail #love #dating #marriage

I’m scared the amount of homework I have this semester will get in the way of me meeting my tinder matches.

Launched originally back in 2012, Tinder was first tested on the campus of the University of Southern California. The popular matchmaking mobile application uses Facebook profiles and geographic location technology to allow registered users to quickly find matches within a specified distance.

Reports claim that the substantial number of registered Tinder users is projected to exceed 100 million people by the end of the year. The simple idea that the average social media user could be tracked by nearby “matches” through a mobile dating application makes it pretty clear why actress Lena Dunham feels that it could possibly be used as “a tool for murder.”

As seen in many other reactions and responses on Twitter, she is not the only person that feels that way, either.

Explaining @Tinder to my mom “how do you know that’s really them and they’re not gonna murder you”

Just had my first successful Tinder date. He was short, so he’s just a friend, but he didn’t murder me, so that’s cool I guess.

Lena Dunham is just one of many celebrities that have inadvertently shined a spotlight on Tinder in recent months. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Conan O’Brien went viral last year when he and actor Dave Franco used Tinder to arrange a fun encounter of their own.
