Holland’s Next Top Model Ananda Marchildon has filed a lawsuit against her former modeling agency because they fired her for being “too fat” despite the fact that she’s “almost anorexically skinny.”
The model was dropped by Elite Model Management nearly a full year before her three-year contract was set to expire and she says they also refused to pay her $85,000 of the $99,000 she was suppose to receive for winning Holland’s Next Top Model in 2008.
Rumors state that Elite dropped Ananda because her hips were larger then the company’s 35.4 inch maximum but Marchildon says that’s just her genetics and the rest of her body is super thin. It should be noted that the average hip size in Europe is 40.5 inches.
Ananda’s lawyer says a representative for Elite Model Management told his clients that “although she has a nice face, she has a fat ass.” Her lawyer also revealed that the rep said “she never had it in her to become a top model because she was unsuitable for catwalk work.”
In their defense Elite says they only fired Ananda because she was unable to find modeling work.
“Couture clothing is made in one size only: (très très) petite. This is not something agencies can change,” says a lawyer for Elite.
Also considering to join the suit is Holland’s Next Top Model 2009 winner Rosalinde Kikstra.
I personally think Ananda is disgustingly thin and it would serve her well to pack on a few pounds. Do you think that Elite Model Management has taken their size requirements a little to far to the extreme?
