Gay Conversion Works, Christian Activist Claims, And He Has The Story That ‘Proves’ It

Gay conversion therapy is a controversial practice that some states have banned altogether.

The idea that, through a series of specialized therapy sessions, one’s sexual orientation can be reprogrammed to a “normal heterosexual” orientation is one that doesn’t sit well with many LGBT activists because it implies an inherent perversion in homosexual orientation.

Still, many in the Christian and Muslim communities maintain that homosexuality is a choice and as such, it can be changed if one desires to change it.

Recently, the controversial Benham Twins, a pair of Christian activists who had their planned HGTV reality show canceled before it got off the ground due to LGBT criticisms, seemed to endorse the idea of gay conversion, and according to them, it doesn’t take nearly as much of an effort as some of the formal programs.

The secret ingredient: a little kindness.

According to David Benham, he had a run-in with a gay man at a recent event that he and his brother Jason attended.

The event was the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) convention in Nashville, Tennessee, according to Opposing Views , and here’s how it went down in David’s own words.

“We had so many people from the gay community reaching out to us and one man in particular from the city of Chicago reached out, and he said things to me that made me lose my appetite… But I simply responded in love… After a little conversation back and forth, I found out he loved baseball … and I got him tickets to a Cubs game. He shot me a Facebook post and said, ‘I was not expecting that, and I’ve been thinking a lot about this. I’ve chosen to walk away from my lifestyle.’”

Unfortunately, no name or contact information was given by David for media outlets to follow up, but there you go.

In the past, David’s brother Jason Benham has admitted to sites like the Blaze that he and his brother were not always comfortable taking as strong of a stance against homosexuality as they do today, but speaking freely “means jack squat if we don’t have the courage to speak boldly.”

Here’s a bit of background on the Benham Twins previous stance on homosexuality.

What do you think about these latest comments from David Benham, readers? Do you think he’s telling the truth about changing a man’s orientation by giving him Cubs’ tickets, or is gay conversion in any form impossible? Share your thoughts in the comments section.
