Amy Schumer has issued a perfect response to a movie critic who stated that the female performer was too “chubby” and unattractive to be a leading actress.
According to the Daily Mail , Jeffrey Wells, who writes for Hollywood Elsewhere , responded to the release of the trailer for Trainwreck by insisting that Schumer was “chubby” and he even declared that her face reminded him of a “blonde Lou Costello .”
Wells added, “She’s obviously sharp and clever and funny as far as the woe-is-me, self-deprecating thing goes, but there’s no way she’d be an object of heated interest in the real world.”
Schumer decided to take to her Twitter account, @amyschumer , to issue a perfect retort to Wells’ remarks.

Meanwhile, Schumer was further probed about the remarks by USA Today . But rather than fighting back with her own vitriol, Schumer insisted that she hadn’t even read the comments.
“I didn’t read the thing… It was such an example of sort of the reason for trolling. It seems like a rewarding experience for people who do that stuff. From the bottom of my heart — I could not care less.”
Trainwreck’s trailer was met with widespread acclaim and fervor when it was released last week. Directed by Judd Apatow from a script by Schumer, it will revolve around her character, who works as a men’s magazine journalist. Schumer’s protagonist is more akin to having one-night stands and is opposed to committed relationships, until she falls for Bill Hader’s sports surgeon. There have even been suggestions that, because of the hike that Amy Schumer’s career is expected to receive after her performance in Trainwreck , that she would be the ideal candidate to replace Jon Stewart as the host of The Daily Show.
Stewart is leaving his position after 17 extraordinarily successful years, where he has genuinely changed the landscape of the medium, later this year, and Wane has reported that Schumer is one of the people being considered for the hosting duties.
Schumer is already contracted to Comedy Central, who produce and create The Daily Show . In fact, the third season of her own sketch show, Inside Amy Schumer , is set to premiere in April.
However, Trainwreck ‘s release is set to raise her profile even further, and rather than sticking to the small screen, it’s likely that Schumer will end up leading even more movie roles instead.
