Isaac Messer recently welcomed a baby girl with girlfriend Maddy Smith. Unfortunately, he has faced backlash online in the months since, the latest of which has caught the attention of his sister, Teen Mom 2 star Leah Calvert.
Earlier this week, a fan took to Twitter, and wrote, “It is weird how @TM2LeahDawn’s little brother, @Messer_isaac24 had a baby as a teen, too… @maddynora14 is the baby’s mom.”
In response to the fan’s comment, Isaac Messer’s girlfriend, Smith, explained , “Yup I’m the babies mommy and I am a teen and I couldn’t be more blessed.”
A short time later, Calvert chimed in .
“Maddy your 19 and in college and my brother works full time and you guys… have been engaged for about a year.”
Although Isaac Messer’s girlfriend’s pregnancy was announced in October of last year, it remains unclear when the couple became engaged.
As fans will recall, Calvert welcomed her first two children, twins Ali and Aleeah, with ex-husband Corey Simms in 2010 as she filmed Season 2 of 16 & Pregnant . Now, Calvert and Simms are seen on Teen Mom 2 , where they have often struggled to co-parent their daughters.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Calvert and Simms’ latest feud was in regard to his marriage to Miranda Patterson. On Facebook, Calvert, who was recently accused of cheating on her husband, Jeremy, claimed the Simms family was only pretending to have a perfect relationship .
“Things you see on Corey and Mirandas ‘official and APPROVED page’ is far from being true, and all I have to say about it is that they may want to be very WISE about what the post because a marriage that PRETENDS to be PERFECT is NEVER perfect,” Calvert wrote . “Especially when there is way more not told to a specific spouse, and that’s all I’m going to say.”
“Marriage is far from perfect but my husband and I are very much in love with each other and still remain married and that doesn’t plan to change. We love each and EVERYONE of you and wish EVERYONE including those that talk down about us the very best and a Merry Christmas and HAPPY NEW YEAR. MAY GOD BLESS XOXOXOXO.”
In an awkward turn of events, the page Calvert was referring to was later confirmed to be unrelated to the Simms family.
Isaac Messer will likely be seen alongside Calvert on Teen Mom 2 Season 6, which is currently filming in West Virginia.
