Bruce Jenner’s sex changed has been confirmed by his mother, Esther Jenner. After months of speculation and “sources” revealing that the former Olympic gold medal winner is becoming a woman, his mother has confirmed the news to Radar Online .
“I just learned about [his transition]. Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it.”
While many may think that Bruce Jenner’s elderly mother would be shocked, disappointed, or just down right confused about her son’s decision to transition from a man to a woman due to the fact that she was raised in a different time, Esther Jenner says she couldn’t be more proud of her son for having the courage to live his life the way he feels he needs to live it.
“I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker. He instills enthusiasm in people. He’s gifted.”
While Bruce has likely been living with this secret pain for most of his life, his mother says she knew nothing about his inner struggle until recently.
“Right now I am more proud of him for what he’s allowing himself to do. I am more proud of him now than when he stood on that podium and put the gold medal around his neck. He deserves all the respect. I support him whole-heartedly. I just love him like I always have.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Bruce Jenner will sit down with Diane Sawyer , a friend to the gay, lesbian, and transgender community, to give his first sit-down interview about his sex change and the process of transitioning from man to woman.
Jenner is currently filming a reality TV show about his transition, which will likely air sometime in May or June. Some ideas for the title of this docuseries are Trans-Jenner or Bruce Jenner: My Journey.
The report also reveals that Bruce is happily living as a transgender and that he’s taken most of the photos from his days as a man off the walls in his home. While Jenner is living as a woman, sources have revealed that he’s still attracted to woman, and that he’ll continue to date woman after his sex change is complete.
“Even as a woman, he wants to continue sleeping with women. He loves women and having sex with women, always has. Always will. What he never liked was his body and being a man. He’s always felt he was born in the wrong body.”
