Andy Roddick Gets Snippy Over Brooklyn Decker Questions [Video]

Andy Roddick was at his moody best at a pre-Australian Open press conference, bristling at innocent questions and dishing out stare-downs like he’s in the WWE or something.

One question about the world number 16’s supermodel wife Brooklyn Decker had Roddick firing back at a reporter, “Everything good in your personal life, you want to talk about anything?”

Another query about Andrea Petkovic ‘s celebratory dancing also got short shrift from the tennis player. Not Pulitzer-winning journalism admittedly, but Roddick could do with getting a little less bulgy-eyed at these pretty harmless questions.

He also poked fun at his own new hairdo, a slightly daft Freddie Ljungberg-style mohawk . Roddick was at least good enough to mock himself, quipping, “I figure I’ve only got a couple of years left with hair, so I thought I should do something with it.”

Roddick and the rest of tennis’ biggest names are down under for the 2012 Australian Open, which begins on January 16. Roddick faces world number 52 Robin Haase in the opening round.

The favorite to lift the Aussie Open crown is, inevitably, Novak Djokovic. He’s followed by Roger Federer, and then Andy Murray. Rafael Nadal is fourth favorite with many bookies, and I’ve seen fifth favorite Juan Martin del Potro priced at 20-1 – a good price in my book. Roddick, to get back on topic, is priced at around 100-1 to win the final on January 29.

Anyway, here’s A-Rod in all his stroppy glory. The diva attitude starts around the 1:11 mark.
