Cut.com has followed up their popular “100 Years of Beauty in 1 Minute” time-lapse video with a century’s worth of African-American beauty trends. The video shows model Marshay Mitchell’s hair and makeup being transformed to match every decade from 1910 to 2010.
The f irst beauty trend video , which featured a white model, has been viewed over 19 million times on YouTube in less than two months. Other versions of the viral hit featuring people from diverse racial backgrounds were promised to come, and admittedly, this one does not disappoint.
With a team of hairstylists and makeup artists, Marshay was taken on a journey from the 1910s to 2010 — rocking beauty styles from the beehive of the ’60s to the ’70s fro and the super popular box braids of the ’90s.
