Avril Lavigne may be back in business. On Saturday, the Canadian pop singer shared a short video clip that shows her being her sassy and sexy self via her Twitter account.
The black-and white-video shows Avril striking some seductive poses as if she’s a model. Keeping to the skater/rocker-chic look that she has perfected over the years, she has on a tight hoodie sweatshirt, her eyes are heavily rimmed with black eyeliner, and her long, layered hair is smooth, yet tousled.
The video suggests that the 30-year-old Lavigne has, or is, recovering from the mystery illness that has kept her out of the limelight for months. Yet it’s not clear when the video was shot. It was actually originally tweeted a day prior by a fan who is hoping that Avril makes a video for her song, “Give You What You Like.”
Several people commented that it’s not likely that Avril Lavigne would come out with a video for “Give You What You Like” since she has already moved on to promoting her newest song, “Fly.”
Late last week, Avril Lavigne tweeted that she wrote “Fly” for her charity , which provides support for children and youth living with serious illnesses or disabilities, a while ago. Proceeds from the song will go towards supporting the Special Olympics. While she didn’t give a release date, she said that she’ll “share it soon.”
Avril’s own song is helping her get through her tough days. She said that she’s using her own lyrics from “Fly” to help her “ get through this .” She shared the following inspiring lyrics from her new song.
“Just reach up, don’t give up until you’ve touched the sky. Just reach up, don’t give up until you’ve realized THAT WE WERE ALL MEANT TO FLY.”
Lavigne has yet to disclose what has been bothering her. In early December, 2014, she revealed that she’s “having some health issues” and asked her fans to pray for her. Her representative denied that she’s pregnant.
Avril married Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger in July, 2013. In an interview with ET Canada in November 2014, he denied rumors that they were already breaking up. He said that he found all the speculation about their marriage “amusing.”
“You know my dad calls me up and he’s just like, ‘I haven’t slept in 2 days, what’s going on?’ I’m like, ‘Dad you’re not buying all this crap are you?’ You know, I get to hear all the rumor mill stuff. I find it very amusing.”
In late December, Avril Lavigne laughed off rumors that she’s in rehab. She jokingly said that the only thing she’s addicted to is Bing Crosby’s Christmas music. It seems that whatever’s bothering Avril, she has no intention of sharing.
