After months of speculation, news is out that Cameron Diaz is engaged to Benji Madden. The two first were spotted together as a couple in May, and now sources indicate that they are looking to take that next big step in their relationship. Though they have been avoiding confirming, or denying, the rumors that have been swirling, it seems now multiple sources are ready to confirm the news.
Us Weekly says that they have gotten confirmation from multiple sources that Cameron Diaz is engaged to Benji Madden. Though in the past Diaz had indicated she didn’t necessarily see herself going the marriage route, it seems that her relationship with Good Charlotte rocker Madden has given her a new perspective on the idea.
Diaz has had several high-profile relationships in the past, as has Madden. Cameron has previously dated celebrities like Justin Timberlake, Alex Rodriguez, Jared Leto, Kelly Slater, and Matt Dillon. Madden has dated stars like Sophie Monk, Paris Hilton, Holly Madison, and Eliza Doolittle.
As the Daily Mail notes, Diaz has previously noted that she had a tendency to make the same mistakes in picking men over and over again. While she wasn’t looking for a husband or marriage, it seems she’s opened herself up to a different kind of guy and now, clearly, a different vision of what her future looks like.
While in the past Diaz didn’t seem to be drawn to the idea of motherhood, it sounds as if she may have changed her tune on that front as well. Sources for Us Weekly claim that Cameron is ready to have kids, and Benji is the one keen to get married before building a family. Pals of his have apparently said that he is a bit more traditional than Cameron, and it seems she’s content to follow that path now at this point.
Benji’s sister-in-law, Nicole Richie, has joked that she’s happy to take credit for the pair’s happiness, having gotten them together in the first place. Rumors that Cameron Diaz was engaged starting brewing in the fall when she was spotted with a ring on that certain finger. The couple hasn’t addressed the rumors, but now it seems things have progressed to the point where sources are sharing the news.
