WRAL-TV reported that the body of a woman found in a North Carolina forest on Sunday afternoon has been positively identified as that of 50-year-old Edwardyne “Dynee” Williams. Williams was last seen during the Thanksgiving weekend. While the cause of death has not been officially released by authorities, sources say it is being treated as a homicide.
Investigators had originally located Williams SUV on the side of Chicken Foot Road in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Williams’ two daughter told the authorities that their mother had no conceivable reason to be on that road. Family members also told WRAL-TV that the victim’s purse was seen perched in a nearby tree. Both her house keys and cellphone were inside the vehicle apparently abandoned while the keys to the truck are still missing.
A Search party made up of North Carolina Law Enforcement and volunteers assisted by a special K-9 team from Tennessee discovered her body close to a roadway off Canady Pond Road.
Williams’ older daughter, Tabitha Jones, had told the station that “Iknew something was wrong when she left her mother a message about her upcoming graduation and didn’t hear back.”
“Call, text, nothing. Her phone was off,” the 24-year-old said.
