WWE News: Ryback Responds To CM Punk’s ‘Steroid Guy’ Allegations

WWE star Ryback, who was one of many people targeted by former WWE wrestler CM Punk in Punk’s conversation with Colt Cabana last week, responded to Punk referring to him as “steroid guy,” and Punk’s claims that he was injured numerous times by “The Big Guy.”

In an interview with an Oklahoma radio station before this past Monday’s RAW in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ryback said the following.

“A little harmless fire back never hurts. I don’t want to harp on this, but I will say the comments [Punk] made were not accurate about me, definitely. It’s a little disappointing to hear that. [Punk] was never like that to my face. To hear the things that he said, especially behind my back to Vince [McMahon], it’s very disturbing to me. Things did not go ideal for me after that time period that we had wrestled, and I stuck around, I hung out, I showed up day in and day out, I did my job, and turned things around.”

Ryback denied Punk’s claims that Ryback injured Punk on purpose.

“You’ve got a roster full of WWE talent that knows the real Ryback. Everyone knows the truth, and what he said is not the truth.”

Ryback then went to say that all Punk wants is for WWE fans to feel sorry for him, but also says that he doesn’t blame Punk for walking away in the condition that Punk was in.

“[Punk] was beaten up, he had his issues. I don’t think anyone is going to question walking away beaten up. But I think people say ‘what does he have to lose by saying what he does?’ I think he’s making excuses. He wants people to feel sorry for him for leaving. He walked away and left, he needed time off.”

Almost immediately after Punk’s initial podcast with Colt Cabana, Ryback responded to Punk’s comments via Twitter. However, likely because of a WWE demand, Ryback removed the tweets.

“For the record, if I quit for being fragile and insecure I would make up excuses too. Things didn’t go my way for a long time, and I kept going day in and out. Slander is a powerful thing, and to state complete made up nonsense for no reason shows his insecurities. I will Continue to bust my a**, study matches every chance I get, cut promos when driving and push myself for hours on end even when hurt. Thank you.”
