Is Cameron Diaz engaged to Benji Madden? In October the gossip rags were buzzing after the actress was spotted out and about wearing a diamond ring. A month or so after word started to fly about her so-called engagement and Diaz is keeping mum.
Although she’s asked about this engagement in a Cosmopolitan feature, Diaz doesn’t confirm or deny the rumor that’s swirling around. Instead, she gives free relationship advice for anyone who’s reading. Perhaps we have to read in between the lines for the answer?
“You have to find someone in the same place as you are. Timing is everything. If you get into a relationship where you want something the guy doesn’t want, it’s never gonna work. You’re never going to get him to be in that place. No matter how old you are, finding the guy who’s in the same place as you are and wants to show up is the only way a relationship works, period.”

Then again, prior to her relationship with Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden, Diaz was very open about her stance on marriage. In fact, over the years she’s addressed what she thinks about marriage, and hasn’t exactly minced her words about her opinion. Back in 2010 she called married for life complete “bulls***.”
“I think the big misconception in our society is that we’re supposed to meet the one when we’re 18 and we’re supposed to get married to them and love them for the rest of our lives. Bulls**t.

In 2011 she hinted that marriage might not be for her.
“I think we have to make our own rules. I don’t think we should live our lives in relationships based off old traditions that don’t suit our world any longer.”
Earlier in the year, she echoed her previous statements by saying that she doesn’t exactly believe that monogamy is for everyone.
“I don’t know if anyone is really naturally monogamous. We all have the same instincts as animals. but we live in a society where it’s been ingrained in us to do these things.”
Although we may never hear wedding bells in the case of Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden, apparently everything is going swimmingly for the couple. Even Cameron’s mother Billie loves Madden.
“Billie has been gushing about Cameron’s new relationship. She absolutely loves Benji and she hopes this is the man her daughter will finally settle down with.”
