As if Neil Patrick Harris’ plate wasn’t full enough, the actor may have a new title to add to his name next to Tony award winner — People’s Sexiest Man Alive.
According to a source close to the publication, if Neil Patrick Harris is People’s Sexiest Man Live, he will be People’s first openly gay man to grace the cover, which is a huge deal. Currently, he’s neck and neck with surprise blockbuster draw Chris Pratt, who had a huge year with Guardians of the Galaxy , and is positioned for another great year with Jurassic World .
Neil Patrick Harris has had a huge year as well that includes winning a Tony, being a part of David Fincher’s thriller Gone Girl , and he will be hosting the Oscars in 2015, which just makes him the perfect choice.
According to the New York Daily News , People is not confirming whether Chris Pratt and Neil Patrick Harris are vying for the top spot on the cover for Sexiest Man Alive.
In a statement, People’s Editorial Director Jess Cable said , “Chris Pratt and Neil Patrick Harris are both amazing and sexy, and I would be proud to have either of them on the cover of People. But I don’t want to comment on the selection or contenders for Sexiest Man Alive. It’s a sacred thing and you’ll just have to wait ’til next week to find out who it is.”
This isn’t a surprise that it would be denied because most campaigns for this specific title are usually hush hush due to the vanity-driven aspect of scoring the cover.
Other winners of past years include Bradley Cooper, George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Ryan Reynolds, Johnny Depp, Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum, Jude Law, and so many more.
