Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson did not have children while they were married, and Nick believes that is a really good thing. According to Yahoo! News , Lachey opened up about his ex , and he says that not having children together was the “best thing.” Of course that’s because their marriage didn’t work out, and things were apparently meant to happen different… as they did.
“In our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever happened that we didn’t have kids. And look, you’re always going to love your kids no matter how you feel about their other parent, but all things being equal, it was the best thing probably for both of us that we went on with our lives. She’s obviously happily married with two and I’m happily married and about to have two so it all worked out the way it was kind of meant to work out.”
Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson don’t talk, either. Once they split up, and moved on with their lives, the two really had nothing to talk to each other about. Even still, Nick says there is not any anger between the former lovers… it is just a-whole-lot of nothing.
“She and I don’t necessarily stay in each others lives. I wouldn’t say it’s friends and I wouldn’t say it’s enemies – there is just no contact. We both moved on with our lives…it’s not animosity, it’s not friendship, it’s just kind of nothing,” Nick said.
According to the Houston Chronicle , Lachey and Simpson have their own families now, and are both happy. Nick is married to Vanessa Lachey, and the couple has one child (son Camden) and another baby on the way. According to ABC News , the couple is expecting a baby girl, and already has a named picked out . Nick said the name is “cool,” but refused to tell the media what it is, because his wife would be furious if he did!
Meanwhile, Jess is married to Eric Johnson, and they have two children, Maxwell and Ace. Jessica said that she is done having children.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, this is not the first time that Lachey has spoken out about Simpson . He told Andy Cohen on an episode of Watch What Happens Live that not having Joe Simpson as his father-in-law was the best part of his divorce. Ouch.
