This season of Once Upon a Time hasn’t been easy for Regina, who has to not only watch the man she loves worry about his frozen wife, Marian, thanks to the Snow Queen, but now also push him to fall back in love with her since she can’t find another way to cure her. It looks like true love’s kiss is the only fix-it in this situation, which puts Regina in a tough position.
Entertainment Weekly has posted a sneak peek from this Sunday’s Once Upon a Time , which shows Regina reiterating for Robin Hood that he has to fall for his wife again.
“My heart took me here,” he explains when he joins her, which just makes it harder for her.
“Seeing you here and hearing about your conflicted heart, it’s torture,” Regina admits.
Even though she’s trying to not be in his life to make it easier for him to love Marian again, he still doesn’t know what to do.
Lana Parrilla also spoke to EW about Regina’s own conflicting feelings in this situation. Those conflicting feelings are also a sign that Regina has grown.
“There’s a part of her that’s really hopeful that he’s going to choose her. Even though we saw that true love’s kiss didn’t work because he loves Regina, that’s great, but that really complicates things even more for her. On some level, I bet she wishes that he didn’t say that. But she has to put him first and that’s true love. She has to find a way to save Marian. …I’m impressed with Regina. This is a side of her that we’ve never seen, where she’s chosen to put someone first.”
There is more than just Regina and Robin Hood’s complicated relationship coming up for the former mayor of Storybrooke. TVLine has teased that there is going to be a flashback in a upcoming Once Upon a Time episode that goes back to when Regina was still mayor and she first met the Snow Queen. The series has shown the photos from when Emma spoke to the Snow Queen in her ice cream shop, a memory she no longer has, and this upcoming flashback could provide some insight into what happened when they first interacted with Elizabeth Mitchell’s character.
That’s not all that’s coming up with the Snow Queen. The promo for the next Once Upon a Time episode, “The Snow Queen,” shows that she’s going to be getting into Emma’s head a bit, and Emma is going to have some trouble controlling her powers. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Emma will be interrogating her at the sheriff’s station. Watch the promo below.
