We’ve been hearing about NBC’s Peter Pan Live! since the powers that be announced it after the successful ratings from The Sound of Music Live! event. Months after, it was announced that GIRLS star Allison Williams is making her way to the stage to take on the role of Peter Pan.

Other than an official promotional image that was released, we have yet to see Williams in action — until now. According to Variety , NBC kicked off the holiday season with its first promo of the Peter Pan Live! event. The trailer shows off Allison Williams and her co-star Christopher Walken as Hook.

It’s a short promo, but fans can get a glimpse of the behind the scenes action. Most of it shows the characters walking around from stage to stage. The most stunning look is Christopher Walken as Hook. He looks completely transformed, mole and all.

As far as the other cast members joining Williams and Walken, Christian Borle will play Mr. Darling and Smee, Kelli O’Hara will play Mrs. Darling, Taylor Louderman plays Wendy, Alanna Saunders as Tiger Lily, Jake Lucas as John Darling, John Allyn as Michael Darling, while Caitlin Houlahan will play Jane.

At the time of Williams’ casting as Peter, executive producer Craig Zadan spoke about what she will bring to the production.

“She will reinvent the iconic role of Peter Pan with her wit, her warmth, her dynamic flying and her wonderful musical abilities.”

Allison Williams has been doing bits and pieces of promotion for the upcoming Peter Pan Live! event, but her first significant promo happened on Thursday at the Today show . Williams gathered with iconic actresses Sandy Duncan and Cathy Rigby McCoy, both of whom have portrayed Peter Pan.

Duncan was asked if she had given Williams any words of advice about playing the beloved character.

Sandy replied,

“The only advice — cause you don’t give somebody advice, she’s got her way of doing it, and she’s smart and she’s surrounded by smart people — we told her to go do it in a theatre somewhere for a month, just for her own thrill of having done the role, and do it with an audience with kids.”

As the Inquisitr reported earlier, Williams said very early on she was game for anything, including that signature look of Peter.

“I sort of very tentatively offered to cut my hair, I was like, ‘You know, if it’s a thing that would help I could cut my hair,’ and they were like, ‘You’re welcome to do that, we’re still gonna put you in a wig.”
